This Saturday, (August 17, 2013), a charity hoe down is being organised at the Black Swan in Ravenstonedale to raise funds for the Macmillan nurses.

One of the organisers explains: “Over the last few years there have been many people in the village that have been affected by cancer and therefore we felt it was a fitting charity to raise as much as we possibly can do.”

During the day many family activities are planned, including  panning for gold, horse shoe throwing, a bouncy castle, tin can alley, cherry stone spittoon, raffle and tombola, a bucking bronco and a bungee run.

There will be musical entertainment and a ‘western’ barbecue and hog roast. Entry from 12:00 to 17:00 is free.

In the evening, the bucking bronco and bungee run will still be available, but there will also be line dancing, a live band, coyote ugly bar dancing, mud wrestling, bar sliding, a strong man competition and lots more.

Evening tickets are £10 and children under 12 get in for free.
